Actually, over the last year I decided that I will move to California, too. Maybe not tomorrow, but most probably in 3-7 years. My reasons are:
#1: THE WEATHER!!! I cannot stand it being depressed for 6 months.
#2: THE ADVENTURE!!! You have to risk things in life.
#3: THE BUSINESS!!! Silicon Valley, what more can I say…
#4: THE LIFESTYLE!!! I love the American way of life.
#5: THE PEOPLE!!! Best people in the world

Ich hoffe wir werden in Kalifornien dann Nachbarn werden ;-). Das Wetter dort ist wirklich besser als hier (St. Gallen hat 180 Regentage, da hast Du es in Basel noch wirklich gut!).
Ihr zieht ein bisschen zu weit nach Westen. In San Francisco steht ihr nur im Stau. Es gibt auch Staedte die einen Subway haben und wo VIEL mehr los ist.
Californien hat sehr viele coole Plätze und es muss nicht immer die Big City sein :-)
