Yepnep AG: New Venture of Exsila-Founders

My friends Rouven Küng and Reto Bütler are doing it again. After Küng & Bütler Solutions GmbH, Osuru GmbH and Exsila AG they incorporated Yepnep AG (see public register).

It seems to be the same concept YesNoMayB.com has, but since the one posting on Techcrunch last year I haven’t heard anything else from the south-african startup. Here is a visualisation (you can see the "Techcrunch-effect" VERY well ;-)

Anyways, Rouven and Reto seem to be pretty serious about Yepnep, since they start with a joint stock company. Plus the name seems to be very cool and suits perfect: Yep = thumbs up, Nep = thumbs down –> it’s so simple, I love it :-)

Good luck you two with your new venture!

Web 2.0 Startup Simulator Game

What a cool game :-)

The goal is to reach a PageRank 10. Don’t forget to go to Bubble Con 08 with your Consultants ;-). As soon as you hit the PR10, you’re acquired by Google:

It’s crazy – Kiva is sold out! Lucky enough I’ve just funded two new businesses in Samoa a couple of minutes ago (I’m getting kivaddicted ;-)

Second Kiva-load repaid, reinvested in Guatemala

My second Kiva-loan has been repaid recently. That means that my first two loans were repaid 100%. I reinvested the money in Guatemala and added three new investments to my portfolio (now containing 7 investments).

Kiva is really fun and I lust love it.

Can I call myself a business angel now? ;-)

The Next Internet Millionaire Web Reality Show

Well if that is not the beginning of bubble 2.0 I don’t know what is – it’s the perfect recipe to get the masses greedy again ;-)

Watch Episode 1 of The Next Internet Millionaire

But it was still fun to watch ;-). And I have to admit that Simpleology.com caught my attention, even though the name is not simple at all and reminds me on Scientology (and it makes the impression to just be guru-fuss – but I am willing to give Mark Joyner a chance and will check the stuff out ;-).

trigami Dog: Party Animal in Berlin

(Constanze loved the trigami dog and introduced him to a lot of cool people. And since the dog has no real name yet, she wanted to dub him "Horst" – but maybe we should rethink that since Horst may be fine for Germany, but maybe not very much abroad ;-) how about "Tricksie" the trigami Dog or something like that? ;-)

(Lukasz bonding with the dog and two beautiful girls who realized that white is the new trend color and such a dog would be a perfect accessoire :-)

CBS is such a fan of RockStartup (and trigami ;-) so that we spontaneously decided to shoot a very short "trigami TV Episode 0.1" Saturday night at 4am in Berlin Mitte. CBS clearly expressed his excitement and passion for trigami (it’s no coincidence that he runs the blog Passionate Commerce :-).

First Blogiversary!

I can’t believe it! It’s already been a year since I started blogging. The first six months in blogged in German, after meeting Robert Scoble and being at Lift07 I stared blogging in English (which I didn’t regret for a second).

Highlights of this first year:
17.8.2006: Famous ad for my blog in the very early days (by the way: I did the spot with David ;-).
20.8.2006: My first thoughts on the new name of openBC (long before my big scoop)
28.8.2006: I discovered the Swiss entrepreneurship bloggers
3.9.2006: My learnings after the first month of blogging
11.9.2006: I decided to go to the first BarCamp Switzerland (which turned out to be a VERY good decision, because we had the idea for trigami during this BarCamp)
22.9.2006: The big XING-scoop (THE HIGHLIGHT of the year – my most successful posting so far !!!)
29.10.2006: My BarCamp report
16.11.2006: The trigami project was born
1.2.2007: First version of trigami went live
6.2.2007: Drinking beer with Robert Scoble (what more can I say…)
21.3.2007: BlogCamp is sold out! 200 participants! (by the way: BlogCamp was born on the first BarCamp, too. So the first BarCamp turned out to be kinda pivotal and legendary!)
26.3.2007: RedHerring 100 in Cannes (EXCELLENT networking; I loved this conference!)
9.4.2007: Why I started using twitter (see also this funny comic :-)
28.4.2007: First Venture Cocktail next Thursday in Zurich (Venture Cocktail was born in Cannes… there definitely seems to be a pattern !!!)
4.5.2007: Remo meets XING (finally: the BIG meeting :-)
13.6.2007: Dog Attack! (we finally incorporated trigami AG !!!)

Read the whole history of the first year with all major milestones and updates

Thanks to everyone I met through this blog. It’s the BEST networking tool I’ve ever used! I love you guys & I love the blogosphere !!! :-)
