One of my goals with this new domain name [remo.fm] is to become No. 1 on Google.com for the search term "remo" within 12 months. I’m convinced this is possible :-).
Three months later, I’m already ranked 7th and domains like remo.nl are behind me. But remo.com is still going to be tough :-).
Wish me luck and don’t forget to link to remo.fm (e.g. change the chuchichaeschtli.com links in your blogroll to remo.fm – thx ;-).
Dear readers
As you might noticed I’ve just changed the domain name from chuchichaeschtli.com to remo.fm. I also used this event to change the url-structure of my blog – you now find the date in every url. Plus all other links (like categories etc.) are now in English (they were in German before because this blog started as a German speaking blog).
I was really happy that over 50 people have taken the poll about the domain name change. As I already said in that posting: I’ve already made up my mind that remo.fm would be the new name for this blog. I am very happy that the majority (55%) supports this decision. But I also had mixed feelings about the stunning 27% that didn’t want me to change chuchichaeschtli.com. Sorry guys! I really appreciate the support for the former name. I love it, too!
I’ve spent the sunday evening to make the transition as smooth as possible. I’ve set almost 200 htaccess permanent redirects to keep the "old" urls alive, ALL OF THEM! Please check some old links out and send me bug reports. I’m sure there are some typos and errors.
I also hope that the old RSS-feed urls are still valid. They definitively should be.

As cool as chuchichaeschtli.com may be – the usability sucks. I know readers who surf to other blogs where the domain is in the blogroll, just to avoid typing in this horrible word.
Recently, I registered two new domain names:
#1: remolus.com (inspired by Simonius and the Romulus and Remus story; note: Remo origins from Remus)
#2: remo.fm – Remo’s channel
(plus I registered remo.in and remo.ag, in case I want to go international or incorporate an "Ich AG" :-).
To be honest, I already made up my mind. I have a bad gut feeling about remolus.com (plus the L looks sucky and could be read as an "i") and I really fell in love with remo.fm (its short, its my name and it represents my own broadcasting channel – its perfect :-). But hey, you’re the readers, so your opinion is important, too. Please take this poll and let me know what you think:
PS: I’m aware of point 12 of Scoble’s Weblog Manifesto "Never change the URL of your weblog", but I will do EVERYTHING necessary to make the change as smooth as possible. I will use proper 301 redirects for EVERY posting and of course I’ll keep chuchichaeschtli.com until the end of the world.
